Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 9, 2026
Gina Lauver ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and the privacy of children. This Privacy Policy explains what information Draw with Scout (the "App") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the App, you agree to this Policy.
Information We Collect
We intentionally collect as little information as possible. Specifically:
- Account information: When an account is created, we collect an email address through our authentication provider so the account can be saved and accessed.
- Date of birth: We ask for a date of birth solely to determine whether the user is a child who requires verifiable parental consent. We store the date of birth and a derived age-check result.
- Parental consent records: If the user is under 16, we generate a one-time approval code and record whether a parent or guardian has approved the account.
- App settings: Preferences such as the parent PIN, volume level, enabled fidget toys, and exit sequence. Some of these are stored locally on the device.
We do NOT collect: the child's name, photos of the child, location, contacts, advertising identifiers, or behavioral tracking data. Artwork created in the App is saved to the device only when a user chooses to save it; we do not upload or store artwork on our servers.
How We Use Information
- To create and maintain the account.
- To verify age and obtain verifiable parental consent where required.
- To remember in-app settings and preferences.
- To operate, maintain, and improve the App.
No Advertising, No Selling of Data
Draw with Scout contains no third-party advertising. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information, and we do not use children's information for marketing.
How Information Is Shared
We share information only with service providers that help us run the App (such as our hosting and authentication provider) and only as needed to provide the service. We may disclose information if required by law.
Data Retention & Deletion
We keep account information only as long as the account is active. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your or your child's information at any time by emailing drawwithscoutapp@gmail.com. We will respond and delete the data within a reasonable time except where we must retain it to comply with law.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect information. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we work to safeguard the limited data we collect.
Children's Privacy (COPPA)
Draw with Scout is designed for children, and we are committed to protecting children's privacy in accordance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA") and similar laws. We practice data minimization: from a child we collect only a date of birth (to determine if parental consent is required) and the account email used to sign in. We do not collect a child's name, photo, location, or contact list, and we do not use behavioral advertising or tracking.
Verifiable Parental Consent: If a user indicates they are under 16, the App does not unlock the full experience until a parent or guardian approves the account. The child is shown a one-time approval code, and a parent must enter that code (and confirm consent) before the child can continue.
Parental Rights: As a parent or guardian, you have the right to review the personal information we have collected from your child, request that we correct or delete it, refuse to permit further collection or use, and revoke your consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email drawwithscoutapp@gmail.com from the address associated with the account.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes affecting children's data will be communicated to parents where required. The "Effective date" above shows when this Policy was last updated.
